🔧 Tally macOS Security Fix

⚠️ "Damaged" App Warning

If you see a "damaged" or "unidentified developer" warning when trying to open Tally, this is normal for unsigned apps on macOS. Follow the steps below to fix it.

Quick Fix (Recommended)

  1. Right-click on the Tally app in Finder
  2. Select "Open" from the context menu
  3. Click "Open" in the security dialog
  4. The app will now run normally!

Alternative Methods

Method 1: System Preferences

  1. Go to System PreferencesSecurity & Privacy
  2. Click the "Open Anyway" button next to the Tally warning
  3. Confirm by clicking "Open"

Method 2: Terminal Command

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tally.app

Why This Happens

macOS Gatekeeper blocks apps that aren't signed with an Apple Developer certificate. This is a security feature, not a problem with the app itself.

✅ Future Updates

We're working on getting proper code signing to eliminate these warnings. Future versions will not require these steps.
